WELLNESS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Meet our nutritionist:
Katie has a Master's degree in Nutrition and is a Registered Dietitian. She sees clients at Summit GI Wellness Center as well as working with both inpatients and outpatients at Rose Medical Center. Since all of her clients come from different backgrounds and have unique nutritional needs, she strives to create a unique plan for each client.
What can a nutrition consultation do for me?
During your nutritional consultation, you will be able to discuss how the food you eat affects your GI symptoms. Whether you have irritable bowel syndrome, gas and bloating, reflux, constipation, diarrhea or just need to lose a few pounds, our dietitian can help with food selections, caloric intake and help you feel better without taking medications. Katie likes to tailor the encounter so that you get what you want out of the visit.
Hmmm, why are your nutritional services priced so low?
We know what you are thinking, but our nutritionist is a fully trained Registered Dietitian with a Master's Degree in Nutrition with both hospital and outpatient experience. We simply believe that despite the obviuos benefits to eating right, nutritional care has been kept out of reach for most people due to heigh cost. We don't think this is right. By contracting with our own Registered Dietitian we are able to provide this service at a more reasonable price.
Is this covered by my insurance?
For reasons that elude even us, most nutritional care is not covered by insurance but our nutritionist does accept certain plans . However, even if your insurance doesn't, you still may be able to use a health savings account (HSA or FSA) to pay for your care. Check with your individual insurance carrier.
